A French political activist and comedy actor, who has been under pressure from the government for “racist and anti-Semitic remarks,” has told Press TV about the extent of Zionism within the French establishment.

“…Zionism takes up a considerable amount of space in the French establishment…,” Dieudonné M’bala M’bala said at the Golden Hand Theatre, where he runs his highly popular shows.

In recent weeks, Dieudo, as the actor is often called in France, has been accused of preaching the Quenelle, a gesture considered anti-Zionist in France.

M’bala M’bala is credited with creating and popularizing the gesture, done by pointing one arm diagonally downwards palm down, while touching the shoulder with the opposite hand.

Following the accusations, the French government banned his show. Now he is back to running his comedy show tours.

M’bala M’bala said, “A kind of a storm hit my family and my professional circles. All this because of one man, Manuel Valls, the interior minister. For how long, I can’t say. But I hope for the shortest possible time. He attacked me and the freedom of speech and expression in this country in general. Therefore, it feels very strange to face the entire government.”

“The Quenelle gesture, it was a humorous gesture, a gesture of emancipation. This gesture is anti-establishment, against this political system, against this Zionist system, because Zionism takes up a considerable amount of space in the French establishment. This is a slave’s gesture who looks at himself and who dreams of emancipation,” he said.

M’bala M’bala said, “There was a lot of muscle flexing by the Zionist Movement over the Dieudonné Affair, which was named after me. The decisions of the Council of State to ban a comedy show in France are the first ever, not just in France but in the whole of Europe. By flexing its muscles, the Zionist Lobby wanted to discourage everyone who would want to attack Israel’s politics in a show or in a song. All criticism of Israel is associated with anti-Semitism.”

“I am not anti-Semitic and I have been repeating and I am tired of repeating. Anti-Semitism would be the extreme hatred of Jews. Are all Jews Zionists? I know many Jews who are not Zionists. Anti-Zionism and Anti-Semitism are two terms that Zionists consider the same, but I don’t,” he also noted.

Palestinians are expected to hold a general strike and observe a day of mourning following the death of a Palestinian prisoner in an Israeli jail due to lack of medical attention. People across the Palestinian territories will join the strike on Wednesday, a day after the death of Maisarah Abu Hamdiah, a 64-year-old prisoner, who had been suffering from throat cancer.

Acting Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas has blamed the Israeli regime for refusing to grant Abu Hamdiah an early release.

Abbas said the death of Hamdiah showed the Tel Aviv regime’s “arrogance and intransigence over the prisoners.”

Abbas also stated that the Palestinian Authority had worked to get the prisoner released for treatment but the Israeli regime “refused to let him out, which led to his death.”

Nabil Abu Rudeina, Abbas’s spokesman, also said the regime of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was responsible for the death of the Palestinian prisoner.

Meanwhile, Salam Fayyad, the acting premier of the Palestinian Authority, also condemned Tel Aviv and called for an international inquiry into Hamdiah’s death.

On Tuesday, Palestinian prisoners in several Israeli jails protested the death of Abu Hamdiah.

People also demonstrated across the occupied West Bank. In the city of al-Khalil (Hebron), Israeli soldiers fired tear gas and rubber bullets at nearly 300 angry demonstrators. Three people were reportedly injured in another demonstration held in East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The Anonymous hacking group says it has hacked into the website of Israel‘s Mossad spy agency, gaining access to top-secret documents.

The Internet hacking group said on its twitter page that it gained access to the personal data of more than 30,000 Israeli officials, including military officials, politicians and Mossad agents, and that it will release the information gradually.

Hacking group Anonymous has launched a series of cyber attacks against Israeli websites since November 2012 in retaliation for Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Anonymous said it had launched the OpIsrael campaign following threats by Tel Aviv to cut all Gaza’s telecommunication links.

OpIsrael campaign aims at wiping Israel off the cyber world by April 7.

Shortly after the pro-Palestinian campaign was launched, dozens of Israeli websites were defaced or attacked.

Many of the sites had their homepages replaced with messages in support of Hamas and the Palestinians.

An online photo posted by a Zionist soldier showing a child in the crosshairs of a rifle scope has created a firestorm on the internet, drawing widespread criticism.

The photo was reportedly posted on Jan. 25 by Mor Ostrovski, 20 years, a member of a Zionist sniper unit. It showed crosshairs zeroed in on the back of the head of what appears to be a Palestinian boy in a village. The photo has since been taken down and Ostrovski’s account has been deactivated.

“The image is simply tasteless and dehumanizing. It embodies the idea that Palestinian children are targets,” Palestinian activist Ali Abuminah said who runs the Electronic Intifada website and drew much of the attention to the photo.

Eytan Buchman, a spokesman for the Zionist occupation army, claimed to ABC News that Ostrovski told his commander on Saturday that he had not taken the photo himself but that he’d taken it off the internet. Thus, no disciplinary action will be taken.

The uproar over the photo followed another posted by a Zionist infantryman on Facebook around a week ago. The photo showed the soldier mocking the four Palestinian prisoners he was guarding by posing bound and blindfolded next to them. He was sentenced to 14 days detention after the brigade’s commanders discovered the photo and ordered it taken down.

The ‘Israeli Occupation Forces’ is active on social networking, disseminating statements on Twitter and Facebook and photos on Flickr and Instagram. However, individual soldiers using social media have a history of getting the Zionist military into trouble.

Israel’s former military intelligence chief has called for the Zionist regime’s stronger ties with al-Qaeda-linked militants in Syria to face Iran.

Major General Amos Yadlin, quoted by Jerusalem Post newspaper, said Israel should strengthen its relationship with emerging Sunni forces in Syria to confront “the big enemy, which is Iran.”

Yadlin, who was speaking at the unveiling of the strategic assessment for 2012-2013 of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), noted that Syria is an influential “component of the Iranian-led regional axis.”

He stated that the ongoing destructive violence in Syria has brought about strategic benefit for Israel.

Eric Draister, the founder of stopimperialism.com, told Press TV in an interview on Monday that Israel and al-Qaeda are two sides of the same coin in creating instability and provoking violence in Syria.

“Israel and al-Qaeda are two sides of the US dominated imperial system which has waged war on the independent nation of Syria attempting to destroy that country,” he said.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of Army and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.

The Syrian government has said that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and that a very large number of the militants operating in the country are foreign nationals.
